AdvancedMD integration

Remote care management for AdvancedMD practices

HealthArc runs remote patient monitoring, chronic care management and seven more CMS programs for practices on AdvancedMD. Patient data comes in through AdvancedMD’s FHIR APIs, and your care team works from one login.

About the partnership

HealthArc and AdvancedMD

AdvancedMD is a cloud EHR, practice management and medical billing platform used by independent practices.

HealthArc connects through AdvancedMD’s FHIR APIs. Your administrator creates an application, gets it approved by AdvancedMD Interoperability, and shares the credentials with our team. AdvancedMD’s standard FHIR APIs are read-only, so writing documents back to AdvancedMD needs its Partner (Connect) API, which we arrange with you and AdvancedMD if you want it.

What it does

What HealthArc does for AdvancedMD users

Find eligible patients from the chart

Diagnoses, insurance and visit history from AdvancedMD feed HealthArc’s eligibility screening, so your team starts with a list of patients who qualify for CCM, RPM or APCM instead of a manual chart review.

Documentation your providers can see

Monthly care-management summaries and time logs are produced for every enrolled patient. Uploading them into AdvancedMD needs Partner (Connect) API access, which we set up with AdvancedMD if you want documents in the chart.

Device readings with clinical context

Readings from 40+ connected devices sit next to the patient’s problem list and medications, so a high blood pressure alert is read against the full chart.

Billing-ready records every month

HealthArc tracks time and device days against each CPT and HCPCS code and produces a monthly billing record for every patient and program.

One connection, nine programs

The same connection serves RPM, CCM, APCM, PCM, RTM, BHI, TCM, MTM and PIN. Adding a program later doesn’t mean a new integration project.

HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 compliant

Data moves between AdvancedMD and HealthArc under a business associate agreement, encrypted in transit and at rest.

What HealthArc does with that data

Diagnoses, medications and readings from AdvancedMD feed HealthArc’s AI-assisted care pathways, which queue the next task for your care team. The medical scribe then drafts the program note and suggests CPT codes for a clinician to review and sign.

Programs

Programs you can run alongside AdvancedMD

One AdvancedMD connection serves all nine. Most practices start with CCM or RPM and add programs once the first one is running.

Getting connected

From first call to go-live

  1. 1
    Practice + HealthArc

    Agreements and scoping

We confirm the programs you want to run, the providers and locations involved, and who owns clinical work and billing on your side. The HealthArc agreement and business associate agreement are signed before any data moves.

  2. 2
    Practice administrator

    Create the application

In the AdvancedMD FHIR Developer Portal, create an application for the HealthArc integration. Request one FHIR API product per application: FHIR Single Patient API or FHIR Bulk API.

  3. 3
    Practice administrator

    Request approval from AdvancedMD Interoperability

Open a support request using the FHIR/API Support option and include:

FAQ

AdvancedMD and HealthArc: common questions

Does HealthArc integrate with AdvancedMD?

Yes. HealthArc connects to AdvancedMD through its FHIR APIs after AdvancedMD Interoperability approves your application. Read access is standard; document write-back uses AdvancedMD’s Partner (Connect) API.

Which care-management programs can I run with AdvancedMD and HealthArc?

All nine programs HealthArc supports: Remote Patient Monitoring, Chronic Care Management, Advanced Primary Care Management, Principal Care Management, Remote Therapeutic Monitoring, Behavioral Health Integration, Transitional Care Management, Medication Therapy Management and Principal Illness Navigation.

Can HealthArc write documents back into AdvancedMD?

Yes, with additional access. AdvancedMD’s standard FHIR APIs are read-only. For write-back, HealthArc works with you and AdvancedMD Interoperability on Partner (Connect) API services and credentials.

What does HealthArc need from us?

Your AdvancedMD Office Key, the application name, and the Client Key and Client Secret for the approved application, shared securely with your implementation team.

How long does an AdvancedMD integration take?

The longest step is usually AdvancedMD’s approval of the application. Once we have the credentials, configuration and testing take days, and most practices go live in about 30 days overall.
